First time experience with this veterinary clinic since moving to Texas. At first they appeared to be competent, although very pricey. But cost means nothing when getting the best care for your fur babies. But I should have noticed the signs immediately. I brought my records from the previous vet to them, and the front desk failed to copy all of the documents. I then, once again, provided my records to the tech/vet. They returned to me an incomplete copy (and now they cannot locate them) - 1st sign. When I got home, I realized they overcharged me by $322, charging me for 2 different heart worm medications for one animal. When I call to let them know, the receptionist asks if I want both (sure, I would love to overmedicate my dog on heart worm medications) - 2nd sign. When I bring my dog in for teeth cleaning, I refuse any extractions (she's lost enough teeth at such a young age due to a medical issue). The vet tech says "dogs are just fine with no teeth"...wow, so are human beings, but it's not something we all want, desire, or look forward to. - 3rd sign. I am told that I will get a call from Dr. Massey when my dog is ready. By 2:45pm (knowing she is out of surgery and awake by 10am), I call to see if she can be picked up. First time I call, I'm left on hold for 11 minutes. So, I hang up and call again. Once again placed on hold. When the receptionist returns, I ask if my dog is ready, and she responds "yes, you can pick her up" CLICK....Yes, she hung up. So, why didn't she say, wait til the vet calls you? - 4th sign. Then Dr. Massey actually calls, and I lit into him about his staff, how they treat parents of fur babies...of course when questioned, he indicates he cares very much about animals. Really? If you took your beloved pet to a place that acted this way, would you question their competency? When I arrive to pick up my dog, I see a receptionist treat callers the same way she treated me (so it must have been her - young girl with glasses). She places the callers on hold and never returns to them because she's helping someone else. Did the other receptionist who was now available pick up the call? The answer is NO. Once I get back to the surgical area to pick up my dog, I have to ask if they are bringing her out (especially when someone else walks in to pick up, gets her dog, and leaves - I am waiting). The woman was very pleasant, very apologetic, very soft spoken, and I appreciate that. But she confirmed they cannot locate the vet records I brought in - 5th sign. PLEASE, if you care and love your fur baby, bring them to a vet who does not view them as a bank account, who treats the fur parents with kindness (by the way, they have a sign up at reception that says "Be Kind"), that provides them with the best care, and addresses the problem - not just shove medications and procedures at your pet. Go someplace that you would want to treat you!!! This is NOT the place.
