After treating my newly adopted Sadie for an infected spay incision, Dr. Kristen warned me that we may have a challenge on our hands. Because Sadie could wrangle out of a cone in 5 seconds flat, Dr. Kristen suggested bringing her in for the next week during the day so they could monitor her to ensure she healed. She let me borrow a Bite-Not collar and connected it to a cone, plus wrapped her stomach. Not only did Dr. Kristen concoct a break-out proof protective outfit, she went out of her way to make Sadie feel at ease. They brought a kennel to the front of the vet's office and let Sadie stay with them throughout the day, so she wouldn't freak out. At first, Sadie was very untrustworthy of everyone at the vet. By the end of the ordeal, she is best friends with everyone up there, but most of all, Dr. Kristen. Unlike other doctors I've worked with, I could tell she was invested and really cared about Sadie's well being. It was a very tough 2 week healing process, and I can say whole heartedly, that I wouldn't have been able to get through it without Dr. Kristen and everyone else at Meadow Brook. They deserve to win $1000 so they can give that extraordinary love to animals who need it most.
