Violet our Newfoundland puppy went in for a routine spaying. All weekend Dr Flint called or texted to check on Violet to see how she was doing. Monday morning when I mentioned that she was still not back to her crazy self she said bring her in, she is spending the day with me. I stopped by after work on Monday to check on Violet in hopes to take her home. While there I took her out to go to the bathroom. She threw up and couldn’t poop when I was outside with her. Melissa had been watching out the window. She came outside and picked her up and said she is staying with me the night. She did an X-ray and violets intestines were stacked. She consulted her emergency hospital vet friends and they all agreed she needed surgery immediately. She had a staff that agreed to stay late to do surgery. She called us at 11pm to let us know violet got severe pancreatitis from the stitches. Melissa kept violet in her care for two days including staying with her for the night to keep her hooked up to an IV. Once Violet was released to come home twice everyday I provided Melissa an update or she would text for one. If it wasn’t for her constantly checking on her and fast reaction our puppy would not be here with us today! She saved violets life and treated her as if she was one of her own!
