Our beloved cocker, Bailey, died en route to the emergency clinic from congestive heart failure on a Sunday several years ago. I was beside myself with grief as he was the first dog I have lost as an adult. I had never met Jill Burgess before that day, but she happened to be in the emergency clinic visiting one of her own pets. She knew a friend of mine who was with us and she came into the exam room as we sobbed and helped us make some final decisions. She did not want us to leave Bailey's body at the emergency clinic and offered to take him back to her clinic and make the arrangements for his cremation and care of his ashes with a company that she trusted. She had never even treated Bailey, but she did that for us and it was an act of kindness that I will never forget. She has treated all of our dogs since then. Tucker, through his battle with cancer, and now our Molly, Tobey and Riley have only ever known Dr. Burgess as their primary care provider. Dr. Burgess will call us after hours or on weekends to check on the dogs after she has treated them and welcomes us to call her on her cell if we ever have concerns. I would never consider taking our babies anywhere else. (Image attached is Bailey)
