Mr. Jacob Walters, owner of dog, Booger- your dog was absolutely not misdiagnosed by any staff at this practice. Your dog was referred to the ER due to acute uncontrollable pain with GI signs. You declined referral to the ER until he could barely walk. Your dog presented on several occasions with gastroenteritis secondary to you allowing him to ingest foreign objects over a span of >1 year despite recommendations on how to prevent this. You were also hostile to staff and this was unacceptable. When you finally took your dog for a biopsy at the referral hospital, your dog was diagnosed with gastroenteritis not cancer. I confirmed this with the Dr who saw Booger. To avoid paying your bill at the clinic, you stopped payment. Coming in as the second maybe third dr on his case, I contacted to credit card company who reviewed Boogers entire chart along with records from the referral center, and they declined your request to stop payment. Due to your bullying of veterinary staff and lying on social media that your dog had cancer, a police report was filed, and the practice lawyers were contacted along with Dr. Becker’s personal lawyer. The case was handed to the DA. This is a case of defamation and your multiple untruthful disgraceful reviews were to be taken down. Note- this case is still active as your review still remains. It is unfortunate that your perception of our medical care was less than substandard. Our perception was that you did not want to pay your bill after you found out that your dog really did need testing which can only be done at the ER.

On January 9th 2019, my dog was brought in to treat a UTI. Tests were ran, treatment was done, and I was charged $453.29. She was prescribed medication and we were told the UTI would go away. February 19th the dog was brought back for the same issue. She was treated again and sent home with more medication. I was charged $276.05. On April 12th the dog was still having issues. We brought her back in again for treatment of a UTI. They charged me $281.93. Leaving there with hopes my dog would heal, we brought the dog home and gave her the medication as directed. The dog did not seem to get any better. On April 24th, the dog became even more ill. She started vomiting blood and was very sickly. We brought her back to the Family Pet Clinic and they diagnosed her as having Pancreatitis. They had her stay for the day, pumping her full of fluids in hopes to fix the dogs same illness. They charged me $572.80 for this service and sent the dog home. The next morning she became even worse. We brought her back again and they claimed the dog had a blockage and needed to go see another vet immediately. We brought the dog to V-Sec where they treated her for a completely different illness. She did not have pancreatitis, she did not have a UTI, and she did not have a blockage. She had Stomach Cancer. V-SEC also stated that she had suffered a heart murmur. Most likely this was a result of being pumped with fluids for an illness she did not have. In all, I’m disputing these charges because Family Pet Clinic did not treat my dog, they had actually made things worse. I was charged $1,584.07 for them to send me to another doctor that diagnosed the dog and now shes dying. I called them to rectify the situation. There response was that I actually owed them $200 and change and they'd waive that. THANKS Dr. Karen Becker, for completely screwing up the diagnosis, and charging me while doing it!

They were great with our dog of 3 /12 yrs who had surgery for a cyst ont his back. First they tried to biopy the cyst but it kept growing. The did the surgery in the office and then sent the specimen to HUP hospital. The vet practice was so kind and informing of all the procedures and were cost conscious. I called after the procedure and was told it was a benign cyst and then the vet called me back to explain further and answer my questions. Bentley is a pure bread, we got him from a breeder in Georgia. So we were concerned for he is so young to have a cyst like this. He is a great pet and so lovely, a Yorkshire Terrier, Prince Bentley George, 7.9 lbs.
