For the past 27 years, the veterinarians at Alpine Animal Hospital have cared for our dogs. Their most significant qualities have been their knowledgeable and compassionate care provided to our canine family members. During the 27 years we have lost five of the most wonderful dogs imaginable. Most have been rescued or adopted dogs that were strays or abandoned. We now have three – a stray Black Lab, Jack; an abandoned Golden Retriever, Copper; and a retired “mommy†Golden Retriever, Gypsy (see photo). When we lost our beloved Chelsee (Lab mix), Dr. Porter came to our home and sat on the floor with us and cried. She comforted both Chelsee and my wife and me. In January 2013 we lost our Shadow (Golden Retriever) to cancer. The vets at Alpine were with us through 19 months of cancer treatment for Shadow. They referred us to Oregon State University Small Animal Clinic to provide the most up to date cancer care. They are now providing wellness care to Jack, Copper, and Gypsy. They take the time to talk and listen to our concerns about each of the dogs we bring in. They are never rushed and are always willing to hear about the “antics†of our beautiful dogs. They truly care about the animals they treat and the families that love them.
