Not only is Dr. Wheat caring and good to Shelby she has been caring for my almost 20 year old cat, who for her age and meds is living a pretty good lifestyle, has hyperthyroid, deaf, and kidney issues (cookie) is medicated properly and is showing no signs of pain of any sort. This vet always strives to make a pet feel better no matter how sick they may be. During Christmas week 2014 my 14 year old Lab I was told by another vet had severe liver disease and I should put her down. This was a holiday and I do not know how I could have done this, so I faxed her all the blood samples and she read them, I brought the dog in and she said she could not repair the liver, but she would try some meds for the symptoms, might work might not, but we had nothing to loose. A few shots and meds later, she was eating enough to sustain herself, for 3 more months. I thank God I took her to this woman. When it came to say goodbye to my very best friend, she was caring and that dog marched in and just laid down like yes it was time. Yes, my heart was broken, I know how she was ready and every thing that could be done was, such a comfort to me and my family. She is a wonderful person all animals love her as well.

Dr. Summer gave me compassion, caring and so much more during the most difficult time of pet ownership, the diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure and Enlarged Heart for my beautiful Dachshund Gracie. Gracie was given such loving care and attention by Dr. Summer and Animal Health Clinic through out her illness, though the prognosis would be the death of my beloved fur baby. Dr. Summer always gave of herself, no matter the time of day with any problem that would arise in Gracie's care, Dr. Summer really made such a difficult situation more bearable and how can you ask for anything more. I could really go on and on about how wonderful theses people are and always will be to me. To have a Vet and visit a Vet is one thing, but when a Vet goes through such a difficult time with a pet owner and knowing that it will end with such sadness takes a very special Vet and that special Vet is Dr. Summer. I would like to nominate Dr. Summer and Animal Health Clinic, not because there was to be a cure but because of their love, care, attention and so much more that was given to our Beloved Gracie and our whole Family. My Gracie died peacefully at home on August 12th, 2015, Dr. Summer and Animal Health Clinic really deserve this award because they went above and beyond!
