Been going to Bellport Animal Hospital for years with all my babies . They are nothing but kind caring compassionate very friendly staff and Doctors . They answer all questions and always are looking out for our fur babies.

Friday night took my dog here. She was acting lethargic & not herself. Vet did exam & advised that ultrasound was needed to see if she had Pyometra. It's bad infection of uterus. Tells us that the sonogram shows she has it & she needs emergency surgery to remove uterus, she wont make it through & that it’s a few thousand dollars, but we need to do it right now or she will die. She didn’t have a fever. I’m thinking, my dog has infection but no fever? Tells us that my dog wont make it through night & we have to go to the 24hr hospital to get surgery we go & tell the symptoms & she says the only way to see if dog has pyometra is X-ray. Had bad feeling & leave 24hr & call aunt's vet in morning. Rest of night I'm a wreck that dog is going to die. New vet gets me appointment that day. We tell symptoms & he examines her. Tell him what the previous vet said. He does xray & finds that she DOESN'T have pyometra, shes CONSTIPATED! From antibiotics that the Bellport vet had given two weeks ago! I almost put my dog into surgery that she wouldn't survived. This Hospital misdiagnoses pets, doesn’t care about patients & I'm wondering how much money they got if I went with surgery, they get money from 24hr place? Not to mention costs after dog died. I recommend Hampton Veterinary Hospital so caring, kind & mortified that they said she needed surgery. They said most vets tell you that your dog needs surgery so they get more money. I'm grateful I didn’t listen to the terrible vet here. Almost killed my dog because of you.
