Dr. Brophy diagnosed JellyBean immediately when she was having sores on her right leg that wouldn't heal after she was put on 24 days of an antibiotic that wasn't helping from my primary vet. Dr. Brophy immediately cultured this area and said that the antibiotics she was on wasn't helping because it wasn't a skin infection. When Dr. Brophy opened her up he saw that these sores were draining tracks. He explained my primary should have cultured her knee after the 10 days of antibiotics didn't work not put her on another 14 days of the same antibiotic. The plate which was put in her when she had her TTA surgery a few years back was the problem. Dr. Brophy removed it, had the plate cultured and it came back contaminated with MRSA. She is now on an antibiotic for MRSA and is doing well. Had this gone on undiagnosed, JellyBean could have lost her leg. She is not out of the woods yet because there's a chance the cage (the other part of the hardware) could be contaminated and would have to be removed. We are all hoping this is not the case. JellyBean is doing well. Thank you Dr. Brophy. My daughter works at AERA so when Dr. Brophy heard about JellyBean's leg issue, he said he would see her immediately.

Dr Grimes was supportive and explained everything to me Snow’s condition when I brought him to AERA pet hospital. Snow was not eating and had black poop. For a pet parent who lost another pet 4 weeks before It was scary. Im glad ARRA is there who I can rely on times like this. Dr Grimes explained the options. Its a relief.
Thank you AERA.
Thank you Dr Grimes.
