My dog and I recently relocated from Hawaii to Minnesota. This was a big change for us and the first thing we noticed was how dry and itchy he became due to the change in environment. This was when we brought him in for a quick checkup as we also wanted to find our new vet in the area. We’re so glad we stopped into Westonka Animal Hospital. They gave a few recommendations but we also did his annual exam and blood work. They noticed what could be early stages of renal failure so they worked with me to find a good diet for Campbell and we also got his mid-life teeth cleaning taken care of. Shortly after, we unfortunately found a mass- every pet parent’s worst nightmare. They got us in right away to aspirate and examine the mass. They keep a bucket of toys in the rooms for the pups so he was both happy and distracted during this! We then quickly had to schedule follow-up for removal. Unfortunately, our worst fears were confirmed- the mass was cancerous, but his loving veterinary team is working with us to get us moved forward to an oncologist and help us further through the process. Patience and kindness goes a long way when you’re given this kind of news about your fur baby. Thanks Dr. Jackie, Dr. Carr, Dr. Smith, and the whole team at Westonka Animal Hospital for all the love you’ve shown our boy!
