She has given all of animals above and beyond veterinarian, chiropractic and holistic medicine since I found her in 1998.
She is amazing, and her assistant, Judy, is just as amazing.
Down to earth, honest and extremely amazing.

If I could give zero/negative stars I would. My very elder family dog started having an unfortunate smell that we were concerned about while we were at our cottage and was acting uncomfortable/lethargic so we wanted to get him checked out and get an opinion ASAP. I contacted this clinic on a holiday weekend, and thought they were being a godsend when they returned my call and said they would come in on their off day/vacation, so he could get checked out/testing. I should have known when they were sassy on the phone saying “I didn’t have to answer/return your call but I did soooo” that this would turn out the way it did. She had the audacity to say “omg do you not smell that, that smell is cancer you should know that haven’t you seen anyone with cancer ever you should know this” and even made gagging noises. As if anyone who’s never dealt with cancer in an animal would know how cancer smells or appears?! My mom was petting our clearly uncomfortable dog and she stated “please don’t do that I do not want to have to vacuum”. She asked them “are you going to have him cremated or what?” My mom stated I haven’t thought about it yet, to which she replied “are you kidding me?”. I never ever would have expect anyone to be so condescending and insensitive in a situation like this. She made a rough situation massively worse. She had dogs there that may have been staying there/her own animals or boarding, not sure, and she made comments saying “I am going to smack them with a fly swatter” because they were barking. I am just so unsettled with this behavior. Please please please do not take your animals to this business or go there for emergency situations. Find anywhere else possible.

I never write reviews. Do not go here. Go to Burtchville. She put my cat under anesthesia as soon as I was there when it wasn't necessary. She told me to help her put a catheter in my cat and I told her I do not want to help as I'm squeamish. She then belittled me asking me where I work and that if I can't even hold my cat down then I will have a hard time in life. She sold me EXPIRED PILLS that the vet at burtchville pointed out that Dr Friday scratched off the expiration date. Also she never even did testing on him, she went straight to treatment. At the end she LECTURED me to get my covid vaccination. The entire time she was VERY rude to me and the next 2 days my poor cat was so drugged up he couldn't walk. Never even fixed his urine issue. Went to Burtchville vet and they fixed him and he's doing so much better and for less money than Dr. Friday.

Heidi and Sarah are absolutely amazing. Despite the fact that there are other vets closer, the drive to them is more than worth it, and I'm not the only rural resident that feels that way. They draw clients from up to 100 miles away, because they are so compassionate and caring, always spending all the time needed to address and concerns or questions. I lost my dog Woof to Cushing's a year ago, and they went above and beyond to help me find the best treatment for her, answering my questions, doing extra research for me, helping me with her diet, even contacting the veterinary hospital at MSU numerous times. They never charge me for office calls because I was in there so much with Woof and with maintenance care on my other dogs. After Woof died, Heidi painted a statue for me that looks like her. In Arizona I spent 9 years driving 40 miles one way to my old vet because I couldn't find one I was happy with in my new area. One of the best things about living in Northern Michigan is the opportunity to use IRVC for my pets; in 40 years of owning dogs I've never found a vet I've been happier with. I wish I could nominate all of her employees as well as Sarah Ginop, the other vet; they are all truly fantastic.

PS. Dr. Friday attracts animals and their owners from around Michigan, Ohio and othernearby states. Her knowledge, skills, reasonable pricing and genuine interest in each animalseen are evident to all. Her volunteer assistant, Judy, isalso a special person.
