River had a pretty severe reaction to a vaccine that triggered an auto immune response. Inflamed joints, extreme pain in the jaw, lethargy, drooling, severely swollen eyes...the works. The presentation was very odd and required her to rope in other departments (Neurology, Internal Medicine, Dermatology) on the fly. She got everyone involved that day as we needed answers. River was going downhill rather quickly and Dr. Campos fought tooth and nail to get River seen by everyone who needed to see her.
Beyond her going to bat for River, everyone else there - from the doctors that saw her to the techs that helped her - were amazing and genuinely concerned for her care and doing everything they could to get my little girl feeling better. She's now on the mend, back to her normal self, and we have the answers we needed.
Dr. Campos was a champ for River and I simply cannot thank her - and everyone at VCA Aurora - enough for their compassionate care.
