Stetson swallowed a sock not his first foreign object but this one didn't come back up. It lodged in his intestine just shy of the rectum. Dr Esmond had a bright idea to try and help save Stetson from surgery. He directed his partner, Dr Baber, who was treating Stetson that day, to insert a red rubber catheter, 150 ml of NACl, and some KY jelly. Sure enough, shortly afterwards, Stetson passed the sock!! It was such a great relief to know he wouldn't have to undergo surgery!! Even better, a friend told the ER vet the story when her dog obstructed and had the same results.' Dr Esmond saved two dogs with his critical thinking skills and creative care. He rocks!!!

I have been traveling for several months and while I was visiting friends in Pocatello, ID needed a vet that could help my cat with her anxiety problem. I am thankful that I found Hollie Schrader as she took extra time to address my cat's needs and my concerns. She researched and presented me with options for herbal remedies and prescription medication. She also shared her experience in working with cats with similar problems, medication given and the results seen. With the information she provided, I was able to make an informed decision. This has given my cat a new life! I now have a cat who can enjoy being petted and loved, a cat who now plays with toys (before medication, she did not seem to know how to play), a cat who no longer bites me and scratches me everyday. My cat now enjoys being brushed and will allow me to brush her without biting. I had tried several methods to help her, none of which worked. My previous vet never offered the options that Hollie offered for my cat. Hollie was respectful of my concerns and ideas, she took extra time to research the subject, she took extra time to contact me, to keep me updated then to discuss the information. She let me make my own decision and did not try to push me to decide one way or the other. I have had other vets who did not go that extra mile to try and help their customers, Hollie did and for that reason I am nominating her.
