The entire staff is superb! Dr. Tidwell and Dr. Lawrence are very professional and have no problem spending extra time with me about specific concerns I have. They are very knowledgeable and always have my dog's best interest at heart. They have handled all of my needs (countless late night calls, Saturday clinics) with courtesy. The billing dept is also exceptional, they always take the time to explain which procedure is which, and what is necessary for my pet. They have been voted the best in our area for a few years now. I LOVE THEM!

I have been taking my pets to Dr Shackleford for 19 yrs. From the very first visit, I sensed his love for his profession and treated our animals with such respect and compassion. I had taken my pets to a couple of other clinics and when I found Treasure Valley Vet Hospital, I have never looked back! Another asset of Dr Shackleford is his wilingness to research vet studies to give his patients quality care. To me that in it self tells me he stays current & applies research based medicine in his practice. He is also so accommodating when I have needed advice. An example that stands out clearly I involved my dog Snickers. I took her to the vet ER. The vets there informed me that Snickers was quite ill. The next morning I called The Treasure Valley Vet clinic. I talked to his office manager and she reassured me that she would contact Dr Shacklford. Within 30 min he called me, asked what prompted me to take my dog to ER. He told me he was going to the Vet ER and consult with the vets re: Snickers' medical status. Indeed he did. He updated me & told me to keep in touch. This was on his day off! At this juncture I will also say his entire staff is wonderful, accommodating, and loving with all the animals. In closing, I will always keep Dr Shackford & his staff close to my heart for my animals.

I had a momma dog and her three daughters come down sick real bad. We almost lost all these babies, one way or another. One went paralyzed in the back legs and very lethargic. One went almost blind. One went very lethargic and started having seizures real bad. The youngest was gone within a few hours of being sick. We ended up losing the momma and the youngest, but this vet tried everything they could. We had them order special food, one that even they hadn't heard of, they tried several different meds and treatments, and in the end they saved two of our babies. One of these babies still suffers from seizures unless medicated, but she is happy and healthy otherwise. We now live an hour away, but I don't mind the drive for their wonderful service .

Dr. Shackelford and all of his staff have helped many of our family pets in the past several years in caring and gentle ways. What stands out most about this wonderful group of people is that they go out of their way to help my mother, 80 years old, with her pet problems. Bunnies, birds, cats or dogs, they are always going out of their way to help. Dr. Shackelford and many of his assistants have come to the house on several occasions to take care of the pet problems. Most recently they have been coming to the house to help with Lady, an elderly dog rescued 7 years ago from the Humane Society. Lady has had a special job during those 7 years. She came to live with mom after my dad died suddenly. Lady has been an angel providing mom with companionship and protection. Lady has helped fill a huge void with my dad leaving us. Lady's health is failing and Dr. Shackelford is doing everything possible to make her comfortable and extend her stay with us. Without his special efforts, we would have lost our angel long ago. This story doesn't end because we will always have precious pets and we will always depend on Dr. Shackelford and his devoted staff to take good care of them for as long as they live on this earth with us.
