The vets and staff are awesome people. They love their professions and they are willing to answer questions and provide excellent care for our pets.
One of our dogs is not a fan of the vet's office, and he becomes aggressive when he has to be seen, so much that my husband has to restrain him.
Instead of turning us down, Dr Leaper tries to address this pet's issues via email and on the phone, without having him come to the office, unless is absolutely necessary.
When our dog has an on-site appointment, he is given a quick sedative shot by the vet tech outside in the parking lot, to avoid stressing him out. Once he is sedated (this must be done if the vet has to touch him) they gently take him inside and call us when is ready to be picked up.
I cannot express my gratitude towards all the vets and the staff who work at Kihei Veterinary Clinic.

My military macaw attacked my blue front amazon. Charlie. I took Charlie to the clinic and left him for examination. They decided to keep him overnight but when I returned the next day, Dr Kehler was very concerned about his condition, thinking he might loose his foot and also worried about his weight. So, it was decided that the bird would stay at the clinic for the next week. The staff could hand feed him and keep tabs on the condition of his damaged foot. Since I work full time, it would have been very difficult for me to do that - I can't have animals at work. Since I get out of work after the clinic is closed, Dr. Kehler arranged to be there whenever I was able to arrive.Charlie's foot, although a bit crooked, has healed well and after several weeks, is getting along great. He has 95 percent use of his foot - instead of losing it and his appetite is back as well as his nasty attitude. The entire staff pitched in to help Charlie. They all fell in love with him and because of their care, he didn't lose his foot. My bill for meds and exams, x-rays and continuous care was $250. I can't thank them enough for what they did for Charlie, and me. Dr. Kehler takes care of all my pets - a dog, 2 cats, 6 birds - one stop
