I have been with Dr. Richter and the team at NECC for about 15 years now and I will never bring my babies anywhere else. They are friendly, knowledgeable, realistic, compassionate, and trustworthy. As my cats became older they all developed chronic conditions and required daily medication. Because of Dr. Richter's early identification and diligent monitoring, they all lived for many years after diagnosis. I won't trust anyone else with my felines and often joke that I wish I could have Dr. R as MY doctor, too!

They quickly responded to messages and there is always a quick turn around time for bloodwork and other lab tests. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly and my cat is very comfortable with them.

I have been taking my cats to NE Cat Care for more than 20 years, and that right there, should be enough evidence of how awesome the entire team is in that practice! Hands down, Dr. Richter and Dr. Arcuri are the most caring vets- dare I say medical professionals - I have ever met. They spend time with me and my cats, their examinations are thorough, and my in depth conversations with Dr. Richter are unparalleled. Everyone in that practice goes above and beyond with their care and concern of my cats, they are without a doubt, treated as if they were their own.

I often tell people that I wish my vet was my own primary-care doctor, instead of my cat's. He always takes great care to explain what is happening with Beck's health after examinations, down to the smallest detail. My cat is now 13 years old, but I rescued him when he was just 11 months, after one of my neighbors abandoned him. This woman had never bothered to take him to a doctor or get him neutered. Instead of turning this situation into a profit-maker for himself, Dr. Richter and his wife, Dr. Arcuri—who co-operates the practice—made a point of recommending an excellent low-cost spay/neuter service to me. When he developed a mystery virus the following year, they worked doggedly to identify it (bartonella) and even were willing to give him his daily medicine when I had trouble administering that. He grew into a beautiful big cat with few health issues. Now, at 13, he's dealing with some age-related ailments and once again, Dr. Richter and his staff have been tireless in helping him combat his problems and get well. Beck hates going to the vet just on principle, but they are always gentle and caring and strive to make the tough jobs (inoculations, nail trims, etc.) easy and comfortable for him. The office staff is also very considerate of me; they've remained responsible, efficient, and reliable in scheduling appointments and taking care of details like arranging prescriptions and insurance reimbursements. I feel we are getting the best care possible.

A little over two years ago my beloved dog of 12 years pasted in Dr. Hanley's arms. I had never met him before that and I had also never seen a vet tear up because he lost a pet. With the love, care and compassion I saw, I knew he was the vet for my pets. If I'd take either one of my dogs to see him for anything other then regular shot trips he'd always call a day or so later to check on his condition. Dr. Hanley was at a different clinic at the time and I promised, if he changed clinics as long as he was still in the area I'd follow him. Around April of 2014 he let me know he had taken a job at another clinic. Since Zeus has started having this last problem he's called and or sent me a text to see how Zeus is doing. I have wished more times then I can count that I'd have taken my dog to Dr. Hanley first and I don't think I'd have lost him. As long as he's in the Fairbanks or North Pole area my pets won't see anyone but him.
