My chihuahua “Shorty” was attacked by a larger dog she not only saved his life but she kept us well informed and assured us throughout the process. The attack happened during a snow blizzard yet she was there for Shorty and my family! She truly cares and it shows in her work! During Shorty’s stay I witnessed her compassion and commitment with EVERY animal that came through their door! She deserves the award and more!

Dr. Kevin has taken extreme care of all of my babies. Shelby was my Mom's dog. My mom had some strokes and had difficulty speaking. He made sure Mom totally understood what was happening with Shelby. He always took the extra time. He also does a lot of charitable functions for animals here in Colorado. At his office they have Helping Hands which helps clients who can't afford expensive procedures get the things their pets need. Like the elderly who are on fixed incomes. He gets out in the public eye to educate pet owners. He has been know to get down on the floor with your pet and play with them while examining making the doctor visit less stressful on both the animal and owner. He's just a great guy. And an awesome vet. Photo available on Alameda East Animal Hospital's website

My dog was diagnosed with Addison's disease. She was not presenting with the normal symptoms and was becoming increasingly more weak and Dr. Howard and I discussed euthanizing her-she had stopped eating. Dr. Howard took Yo Na home with him (his house) over the July 4th weekend and monitored her, giving her IV treatments to help keep her hydrated. Dr. Howard took a "swing" in the dark and ran an obscure test that confirmed what was ailing Yo Na. This was over 2 years ago and I still have my first dog as she is able to live a long, healthy life thanks to Dr. Howard and his extra attention in diagnosing an asymptomatic dog.
