This guys are the best. I've been using them since 2021. My pets are always well taken care of and they do a phenomenal job balancing care with cost- starting with less cost prohibitive evaluations and treatments when appropriate, but also willing to suggest more aggressive treatments when needed. One of my dogs ended up with kidney failure after eating toxic plants and they immediately involved a veterinary toxicologist and found the best course of treatment for her. Another dog has significant back problems and they used eastern treatments to address pain (acupuncture, e-stim, and herbs) which worked well and kept him from needing prescription meds. I've gone through putting another of my dogs down with them and they were exceptionally compassionate, allowing me as much time both before and after. I really cannot say enough about HPVH. I've been a dog mom my entire adult life, and these folks are the best.

Soon after I moved to Colorado Spings, I realized that my dog, Sam, had fractured one of his molars. Money is a big concern for me, so I called around to a lot of vets to see if there were any payment plan options out there. Most told me they wouldn't even be able to "get him on the table" for the amount of money I had. The first vet I visited looked at my dog for about a minute, told me I was wrong-Sam was fine, and then took my money. I finally found High Plains, and it was such a relief walking through those doors. The atmosphere and attitude was immediately welcoming...everyone there came out to meet my dog and tell me how cute and happy he looked. They charged me absolutely nothing for the consult, which was amazing. Dr. Matz is also the first vet I've run into for quite awhile who took the time to introduce herself to my dog before examining him, and made the examination seem like it was just love and attention time for Sam. Dr. Matz found not 1, but 3 broken molars, explained all of my options (price vs. effectiveness, etc), and a week later Sam had a few teeth pulled. Sam came home with trimmed nails, plenty of pain meds, and before/after pictures of his mouth. The whole process was very non-stressful for both me and Sam!
