Dr Hellman can tell you over the phone what may be ailing your pet by description...Bodhi has PKD (Polycystic kidney disease) and is a one touch cat...But Dr.H can examine him so fast that Bodhi doesn['t have a chance to bite...Dr. H is so kind and soft voiced that even my meekest cat Belle is at ease...Belle was a feral cat that I tamed and she is very scared of outside people....Dr. H has been my families vet since 1992 and in all those years has taken care of my furry family with a kind heart and thoughtfulness that is very rare in vet care these days! I have had cats with many diseases (Lymphoma, Leukemia, Heart disease, Kidney failure, Arthritis, Periodontal disease) over the years and this doc is the best at dealing with all of them! Plus he really cares for the human part of my family as well....So whether your pet is purrrrrfectly healthy or has health issues he is the vet I recommend to everyone! The River Oak staff is fantastic with all your needs, sending birthday cards and if needed sympathy cards...I really have done a poor job writing my feelings here but hopefully you can see what a wonderful man Dr Hellman is....No one is flawless but he is pretty close!
