Marshmallow was attacked at a trailhead by a pit bull mix. He suffered two deep puncture wounds. We are from out-of-town, so I found the nearest vet hospital, Look Ahead, for emergency treatment. The admission procedure was quick and efficient. The prognosis was not bad, with only skin and fatty tissue damage. Though suture could have been administered, the vet tech suggested not to do it due to risk of internal infection. Hence only superficial treatment was done, with prescription medication that comes along. The wound was so well-cleaned, that it healed within less than a week. I'd like to thank the vet tech for an excellent job done. And the cost is an order of magnitude less than that in the Bay Area.
