My Vet - who weeps when he has to put an animal down, "owns" my dogs' bodies with his hands. He moves over them with gentle firmness and listens to me, my gut feelings and takes them into account as he studies the dog. He has found tumors and has dealt with them immediately. While his waiting room is filled with patients, I feel like I am the only dog owner and the only dog that he cares for. I realize that while he is taking care of my dog, he is also taking care of me...supporting me, assuring me that my dogs will be alright, no matter what together we decide to do. He is a serving member for the Morris Foundation Golden Retriever Study. He has many specialties and this is a full service clinic. His office staff are kind and responsive. I will never take my animals anywhere else.

Dr. Hurdman gets down on the floor and runs his hands over every part of my dogs. He knows their bodies and souls. This intimate knowledge gives him both intuitive and actual understanding of changes in my dogs' conditions. He is very busy but never in a hurry. His empathy of his clients and his depth of wisdom for his patients make him the Best of Show. Bailey is a Morris Dog in the Golden Retriever study and Dr Hurdman has never charged or short changed the examination. He understands the importance of science and is actively involved in furthering the health or all breeds.
Dr. Hurdman has gathered a genuinely caring and competent staff around him who all suscribe to his philosophies. They all laugh with you and cry with you. I couldn't imagine having a pet without him.
I just lost Bailey. He cried with me. What more could you ask from your beloved animal's doctor than competent compassion?

Bailey is part of the Morris Foundation Study for Golden Retrievers and Dr. H gives his time to do the exam and write the reports without charge - because he is a scientist and is interested in leading research for new ways to treat animals. Upon meeting the dogs, Dr. H sits on the floor and runs his hands all over the them. The Doc KNOWS their bodies and any quiver or pinch or shift prompts his closer attention. He RUNS all day for his patients, soothing their owners and making us laugh, encourages us to be better owners. You are never rushed or given less time because it is "OR Day". Finances are always "figured out". He surrounds himself with kind, competent, intelligent people who love animals. the best part is that he never takes his hands off the dog, soothing and relaxing the animal while he talks to you, pulling the dog into the conversation and you know that your animal is in loving, kind, compassion and competent hands. Dr. H always has "one more thing we could try", and if it doesn't work, he sits with you and cries too.
