What Influences the Price?
The biggest factors that influence the price are:
- Age of Your Pet - Because older pets generally have more medical problems
than younger pets, their monthly premiums are a bit higher, though not as high as you might expect.
- Your Pet's Breed - Some breeds are more expensive to care for and tend to
have more problems, so the breed of your pet influences the cost, as well. This amount is never more
than a few dollars per month.
- Your Location - Where you live also makes a difference in your premium. This
is because veterinary expenses in New York City are higher than those in places like Rawlins, Wyoming,
for example. The price of your premium reflects those differences, but again, not as much as you might
expect.
