Talk about extensive labor! When the Potts family’s dog, Kibosh, was giving birth, they looked forward to having a few new additions – they just did not think there would be 17 of them.
Once Kibosh, a South African Boerboel, started delivering, she had no signs of slowing down. Jen Potts’ received a phone call from her husband saying that the puppies just kept coming and coming, according to WCMT-TV in Columbus, Ohio.
"I said, ‘she has to be done,’" Potts explained to the news source. "But he [her husband] said, ‘no, she still looks full,’ and sure enough he just went out and there was another one, and I was like, ‘you’ve got to be kidding.’"
Potts said she thought Kibosh may have set a world record for this feat, but a Neapolitan bull mastiff in England currently holds the title with giving birth to a litter of 24.
All of the pups survived and are in good dog health. However Potts told the news provider that Kibosh is definitely done having puppies.
