Boise-based pet insurance provider boasts high employee satisfaction

Boise, Idaho – Pets Best Insurance, a leading nationwide pet insurance agency based in Boise, Idaho, announced today the company has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Idaho.1

The company is among a select group of Gem State businesses to receive recognition this year from the Best Places to Work in Idaho program, a collaboration between the Idaho Business Review and POPULUS, a well-known Idaho-based research and consulting firm.

The Best Places to Work awards are distributed based on the results of surveys designed to measure various aspects of employee satisfaction. The annual survey rates companies by their performance in a variety of areas, including compensation and benefits, employee growth and development, and work-life balance. Workplace environment and company management are also important factors in the survey.

Dr. Jack Stephens, the veterinarian who founded Pets Best Insurance to promote pet health and reduce the financial burden placed on pet owners, expressed pride in his company’s most recent accomplishment.

“Our employees choose to work for Pets Best because they care about animals,” said Stephens, who serves as the president of Pets Best Insurance. “We value the hard work these dedicated people invest in improving the lives of animals, and we pride ourselves on cultivating a supportive and rewarding environment for our employees.” (more…)

BOISE, IdahoPets Best Insurance, a leading nationwide pet insurance agency, announced today the company has launched a new payroll deduction service to provide pet owners across the United States with an easier way to pay for pet coverage plans offered by their employers.

To meet the growing demand for pet insurance coverage among American families, companies of all sizes can add Pets Best Insurance as a voluntary benefit for their employees. Pet coverage plans are also available for employer discount programs.

The free employer sign-up process takes about 10 minutes, with no minimum participation or employer contribution requirements. With the addition of the automatic payroll deduction service, employees are no longer required to pay for their coverage plans with credit or debit cards.

Industry leader offers advice in recognition of National Pet Dental Health Month

Boise, Idaho (February 14, 2012) – In recognition of National Pet Dental Health Month in February, Pets Best Insurance, a leading pet insurance provider based in Boise, Idaho, today released a list of useful pet dental health care tips for dog and cat owners across the nation.

“We want to make sure pet owners have access to the information they need to keep their pets healthy and happy through regular dental care,” said Dr. Jack Stephens, president and founder of Pets Best Insurance. “Periodontal disease is a serious concern for dogs and cats, sometimes resulting in severe health conditions like heart disease and infections, but there are a number of steps pet owners can take to protect their four-legged family members.”

Pets Best Insurance encourages pet owners to consider the following dental health tips:

Schedule a dental exam and professional cleaning

Scheduling an annual visit to the veterinarian for a dental examination often plays a key role in identifying pet dental health issues. Pet parents are encouraged to consult with their veterinarians to determine how often their pets should receive professional teeth cleanings. Veterinarians can also help pet owners develop at-home dental care strategies designed to meet the unique needs of their pets.

It’s also important for people to examine their pets’ teeth on a monthly basis to look for plaque and tartar accumulation in the form of yellow or brown material where the tooth meets the gum line.

If left untouched, plaque buildup will result in tartar, which cannot be brushed off and will eventually lead to more advanced infections. Tartar can loosen and eventually destroy teeth, and infections under the gum line may also spread to the vital organs, resulting in a host of serious health issues.

Don’t forget to brush! (more…)

New Plan Provides Pet Owners with Access to Affordable Coverage for Expensive Pet Cancer Treatment

Pets Best Insurance, a leading U.S. pet insurance agency, announced today the company has launched a new low-cost plan designed to help pet owners afford life-saving, though often expensive, cancer treatments for their four-legged family members.

While Pets Best Insurance has offered comprehensive coverage since 2005 for pet accidents and illnesses, including cancer, the company developed its new Cancer Only plan to provide customers with budget-friendly coverage options for what is widely considered the most expensive medical condition among pets. With prices starting as low as $3 per month, the Cancer Only plan offers coverage for the diagnosis and treatment of malignant cancers, including chemotherapy, MRIs, examinations, blood work, surgeries, medications and other cancer-related expenses.

“As a growing number of pet parents seek to extend and improve their pets’ lives through increasingly effective cancer treatments, Pets Best Insurance recognized the need for an affordable plan designed to limit the high out-of-pocket costs typically associated with treating the disease,” said Dr. Jack Stephens, the founder and president of Pets Best Insurance. “Without the right insurance coverage, veterinary bills for the treatment of lymphoma, leukemia, malignant mast cell tumors and other common forms of cancer can wreak havoc on a family’s finances.”

Cancer is responsible for nearly half of deaths among pets older than 10, with dogs experiencing the disease at about the same rate as humans, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.[1] Fortunately, cancer treatment for dogs and cats has advanced rapidly in recent years, with veterinary oncologists now performing less invasive procedures that result in fewer side effects and improved outcomes.
